Raising Money/Awareness for the UoM

Musical notes, Spencer lyrics, SBL drawings......all put on quilt squares to be donated and hung at U of M for awareness for Spencer, his music, the SBL site and awareness for ACC. Not to mention the eventual auction/sale with 100% of proceeds going to one of U of M's Spencer Bell Memorial Fund  Thoughts?

Leigh Ann Averett, Please let me know how we could go about doing that! Sounds like a great idea for a party and a fun way to raise some money for ACC!

Not sure if this counts or not or if this is the place to mention it... but.  Knowing I was going to have to find about a grand to be able for AnnaBeth and myself to fly back to Madison, I just recently started doing a direct sales job.  I represent Jamberry Nail Shields.  The money that we make from this is going well over the cost of our flights.  The remaining is going to be our donation for SBEndowment this year and hopefully we will go WAY past our 1st donation.  THIS is not sponsored by Jamberry b/c of tax codes.  But since SBL is the only reason I took up this 2nd job, all of the money is immediately earmarked.  If anyone is interested, you can help us by hosting an online Jamberry party.  Just let me know.  (They even have music themed nails, skulls and crossbones, the tie die colors.. sooo many that are somehow related to SBL :)

I love the quilting idea!  I have some very dear Mennonite friends who are some of the finest quilters I have ever seen.  They have donated a quilt to a local community hospital annually for years for a raffle fund raiser.  Looks like a visit with them is in order.  Will post more after I visit them....maybe even today!  My son, Jake, (age 19) was diagnosed with ACC this September.  He is just finishing up six weeks of radiation at U of M.  It has been a rough holiday season for all of us...being separated for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years after such a devastating diagnosis.  So glad he is coming home to NY in about a week!!!

I've been in touch with Diana in the past. They're doing good stuff. Hmmm, maybe she could check US out too?  Anyway, we sort of have two different styles - she/they are totally about raising money (and awareness) for ACC and we're kinda 50/50, raising money and awareness for ACC and spreading Spencer's art.

Quilts, one from each state depicting the flora, fauna or transportation of that state. To be auctioned off for funding adrenal cortical cancer research at the University of Michigan. Any fellow quilters out there?

Just wanted to say...I'm quite proud of my high-schooler. She wears her SBL 2010 t-shirt with pride and goes around with bracelets up both arms.  When asked, she never hestitates to tell the listener all she knows about Spencer.
