We've all misunderstood what a singer actually said from time to time.  What are some of the funniest misunderstood lyrics that you've heard someone sing?

Does anyone think it might be possible, since a lot of us write, to start something of a writer's circle within this group and maybe do some collaborative writing? I'd love to get something like that going if anyone is interested.

I'm not sure either, all I know is it was awesome.  If you do find it online post a link, I'd love to hear it again, or similiar.  I was at a concert and heard it live years ago.

Cary, I haven't heard that combination but I bet it was rather interesting and thought provoking. I'm going to have to go look that one up. Amazing Grace seems to be a song people enjoy switching up. Maybe its because the lyrics are just so raw and passionate. Not sure.

Jo, I've heard someone play the music to House of the Rising Sun but sing the lyrics to Amazing Grace, its fantastic, and makes you very much look at both songs with a different prospective.

Lorelei, I've heard that too. I've also heard that taking the lyrics from one song and the melody to another can totally change the song and make you feel like you've never heard EITHER song before. It's pretty interesting. In a way, I think that also plays into how different people can sing the same song and it can sound completely different and groundbreaking and then you realize you've heard the song before, it was just different. It's cool to see what different interpretations can do to a song.

It's interesting when you already know a song, but you just read the words out loud without the music. Along time ago I heard that the comedian Steve Allen read out loud - as if just a poem that never had any lyrics - the Rolling Stones "Satisfaction". Apparently, the way he poetically emphasized phrases, it made you think that you'd never really heard the song before. Interesting.

This is a great idea. I'll try to get here as much as possible. I'm really busy packing stuff for my gramma and stuff, but I will def be back. This was really a great idea!!

The band has come to life. We've now played two shows, a third is coming up Saturday, and a fourth in July. And somewhere in there, we're going to record an album, possibly a separate EP, and get shirts/stickers/buttons made. Our first show was fun. I was so nervous I got nauseous before I took the stage. It was a mix of nerves and adrenaline, really. I used to puke before every show back in my previous bands, it's weird that "tradition" has somewhat continued. We weren't sure how the music was…See More
