Many of you know the album name. and for those who are familiar with the track list you'll note there is no actual song called Feudal, Brutal and the American Dream.

I feel bad, I haven't been on here in quite some time.
I went through a phase where I didn't want to listen to Spencer's music for a little while, but I've come back around. It seems like whenever I am having a hard time I end up finding my way back to him. I don't know what it is about his voice, but it always helps me when I'm sad.

Spencer had a ton of lyrics/poems that were not eventually recorded. Fortunately we still have a lot of the original writings of the stuff that did make it onto tape as well. "Sweet Company" was written during his senior year in High School and performed live as a class assignment (it's here, recorded in class, on the website - song #53 - and will be on the next album). Amy Dupcak reminded me of the original version of "Fearful" where the Cactus (eventually, Stevedores) wanted to use Carl Sagan's voice (from the PBS series, "Cosmos") at the beginning. However, they couldn't get permission from Sagan's estate and, instead, had to go with the version you now hear on "Tamuawok" (you can't copy this version - sorry - we don't want to get into trouble).

Deb was going through old school papers and found this original poem which eventually became the song, "Violin" (my favorite of Spencer's solo songs, I believe). You'll be happy to know he received 10 out of 10 points on the assignment - see teacher's (and others) notes too.

So, I'm majoring now in Communications (Cinema & Media Studies, Media Production) and minoring in Graphic Design and Creative Writing. These are in hopes of getting into the Entertainment world as a writer/journalist/whatever - and getting my master's degree in Filmmaking from NYFA.
Whose fault is all this? Spencer Bell's, the freakin' 100 Monkeys and of course Before the Door Productions.

I had originally intended on another piece of text to fill this blog
